Saturday, 22 October 2016 15:52:29 Europe/London

5 Vintage Easter styling tips

Saturday, 12 March 2016 14:53:32 Europe/London

With a houseload of folks planning to descend on us for Easter I had a slight panic attack this morning when I realised that this is just two weeks away. Given that much of our entrance hall & kitchen are currently daubed in paint samples (I am so indecisive at present) I have been thinking up some vintage style touches with which to jolly things along...

Vintage styling tips for coat hooks...

Monday, 2 November 2015 14:27:48 Europe/London

After two manic weeks of refitting, redecorating and Christmassyfying (my word invented to describe Christmas visual merchandising) our shops are light, inviting and packed to the rafters with enticing wares. My house on the other hand is officially a tip. French dressing

Wednesday, 23 September 2015 16:01:21 Europe/London

Strange how what goes around comes around, as a child of the seventies no weekend was complete without my parents trundling off to our local pine strippers to have their latest purchase dipped. A Fathers day present your Dad will actually like

Tuesday, 16 June 2015 14:51:16 Europe/London

My Dad thinks Fathers Day is a bit corny and he certainly wouldn't thank me for a "Fab Dad" card that said I think compared to Mothers, Fathers get a raw deal when it comes to presents with lots of rather naff joke products that must surely head towards the bin within 6 months.

So with this in mind here is a small selection of things your Dad might actually appreciate...

On the shelf

Monday, 20 April 2015 19:32:35 Europe/London

I am still in decorating mode however gardening mode is fast approaching so I am becoming increasingly hell bent on finishing projects. And since lately these have involved various shelving schemes it seemed only right that I should photograph my creations & share the love for cast shelf brackets...

Project bathroom complete at last

Friday, 13 March 2015 15:42:58 Europe/London

It's over a year since I began the revamp of our pretty ghastly magnolia bathroom but it is finally completed. It is rare for an interior project of mine to drag on like a DIY SOS disaster but my work load of the past 12 months have turned this into a slow burner.....

Beat the blues with a January revamp

Wednesday, 14 January 2015 18:25:18 Europe/London

Being the eternal optimist that I am I find I can cope with January, I even harbour a secret liking for this most loathed of months, I like the new start to the year and fresh plans for work etc. Naturally I don't advertise this admission and whilst I embrace the grey days I find increasingly that  friends and family seek solace in winter sun/ski trips and the more desperate: SAD lamps and red wine.
